Soundbytes: Boston Public's Mehcad
Mehcad Brooks co-starred in the third and fourth seasons on Boston Public, the critically acclaimed—but commercially panned—drama created by Emmy Award-winning producer David E. Kelley.
Mehcad is 24 years old, and has modeled since the age of 15. Besides his studies at USC, he's also gained considerable prowess on the basketball court, and that's where many of his television and film roles have led him. On Boston Public, the 6'5 actor played Russell Clark, a preps hoops phenom; as you can see on the left, he's extremely photogenic.
Not surprisingly, the flawless Mr. Brooks reported for jock duty in other roles, like One on One and 2003's A Token for Your Thoughts, where he also served as assistant director. Sometime next year, look for him at a screen near you in Glory Road. The mid 1960s period piece is the true story of the first all black starting line-up for a NCAA hoops team.
Boston Public: Syndicated episodes can be seen on TV One and Vox, the premium German television service.
